Gillian graduated from the University of Strathclyde with a BSc (Hons) in Speech and Language Pathology and Therapeutics and worked as a Speech and Language Therapist and worked in that field for several years in a range of genres including adults with disabilities, young offenders and adolescents with mental health issues. When she gave up Speech and Language Therapy she continued her involvement with young offenders by taking part in their mentoring project where Gillian volunteered as a mentor for young people.
Since then she has managed a couple of projects developing volunteering including those involved with mentoring.
Gillian joined the Cleft Lip & Palate Association (CLAPA) as Senior Regional Coordinator for Scotland in 2015. Her role there is to develop the charity’s services across Scotland.
She has been a Director of Scottish Mentoring Network since the beginning of 2012.
