Association of Chief Officers of Scottish Voluntary Organisations (ACOSVO) is running a ‘Skills for Mentoring’ course on Tuesday 16 June 2015 in Edinburgh. The course is for anyone considering becoming a workplace mentor, anyone interested in learning more about the ACOSVO Mentoring Programme or anyone considering the possibility of being a mentee. The course will also be of value to those seeking to integrate mentoring into their current workplace as it will have a mentoring skills focus. The event will be a combination of theoretical and experiential learning and offers the opportunity to connect with ACOSVO members and other third sector leaders.

The aims of the session are: * To develop participants’ understanding of tools and processes used in mentoring relationships, and the specifics of ACOSVO’s Mentoring Programme * To share the work of David Clutterbuck, Edgar Schein, Nancy Kline and others who have made useful contributions to the field * To share the CLEAR and TOMS processes for mentoring * To clarify the difference between Mentoring, Coaching and Counselling * To offer structured opportunities to practice, and receive, mentoring. The course will run from 10am until 4pm on Tuesday 16 June in Edinburgh. The cost of one place at this event is £50 for ACOSVO members / £70 for non-members and places can be booked online here.
