The partnership also includes The Robertson Trust, the Life Changes Trust and STV Children's Appeal.

£4 million funding has been secured and the programme will be rolled out to all of the city's 30 secondary schools over the next three years.  After this time the Education Authority will take on the programme with mentoring for care experienced young people across Glasgow becoming the norm.

It has been a long held objective of MCR to bring mentoring and talent tasters to the core of the education system and this new PSP will help achieve this.  Through this exciting new PSP, MCR its partners will work to raise attainment, aspirations and positivie destinations of thousands of Glasgow's young people.

Speaking at the announcement of the new partnership, Leader of Glasgow City Council Councillor Frank McAveety said:

"All our young people deserve the best we can offer regardless of their personal circumstances or background.  This project is not a one-off, but a long term commitment for Glasgow."

"The mentoring project is making an incredible difference to the lives of some of our most disadvantaged young people. In conjunction with other council initiatives, it is helping to close the attainment gap in Glasgow and tackle some of our well documented social challenges."
