NEWS: What needs to change for young people? Share your views for SYP's new manifesto!

The Scottish Youth Parliament is currently designing a new manifesto consultation which will launch next March – September 2020.

All young people, focus groups with MSYPs and youth workers as well as outreach sessions with ‘seldom heard’ groups are encouraged to share their views and help shape the "To Scotland's Young People" manifesto.

Since 2003, mass consultations have been distributed throughout Scotland every five years to shape most of SYP's work. The current manifesto, Lead the Way 2016-21 has resulted, alongside complementary advocacy efforts across the sector, in achievements from the commitment for UNCRC incorporation by 2021 to the Equal Protection (Scotland) Bill passing this year.

You can share your views via the survey If you don't want to fill out the survey but still want to share your views you can answer the two following questions and send your responses to tom.h@syp.org.uk by 9 December 2019.

1) What changes do the young people you work with want to see in Scotland by 2026?

2) What needs to happen for these changes to be made?

These questions are deliberately broad to find out what topics you think should definitely be in the consultation next year. Give as much detail as you like!
