NEWS: MPs join the 'One Hour, One Young Person, One Parliamentarian' Campaign
28 October 2020
100 MPs and Peers have been involved with the Diana Award's Campaign, "One Hour, One Young Person, One Parliamentarian". It aims to match the parliamentarians with a young person for a virual mentoring session. The campaign aims to highlight how one hour can help the mentee to see things differently. These matches took place on National Mentoring Day, and was organised by the all party parliamentary group on Mentoring, The Diana Award.
Emily Tidey, North-West based politics and communications student said: “The opportunity to receive mentoring from an MP for National Mentoring Day is incredible. It can be so difficult to get first-hand experience and insight into politics now, so I’m incredibly grateful to Trudy for offering her time. I really enjoyed learning more about Trudy’s work and what it’s like working in politics in general.” She was matched with Trudy Harrison, MP for Copeland.
