Looked After Children and Young People: National Mentoring Project

Following a recommendation of an expert advisory group, co-ordinated by CELCIS, Bruce Harkin has been engaged by the Scottish Government to take forward a proposal for a National Mentoring Scheme for Looked After Children and Young People. Some of SMN’s members will already have met with Bruce and he is now trying to gather some more information from organisations and projects working with Looked After Children and Young People. SMN was represented on the Advisory Group and is very pleased that the government is now taking this proposal forward to provide sustained mentoring for this vulnerable group.
We are keen to see this proposed national programme mainstreamed into existing mentoring projects and would ask all of our members working with Looked After Children and Young People to download and complete the form below and return this to iain@scottishmentoringnetwork.co.uk.
