Free Member Service: Scottish Mentoring Network Evaluation Framework

17 May Our members have commonly reported that the main barriers to this type of evaluation are a lack of time and resources. Therefore we have been working with Hall Aitken and their new Indicate toolkit to try and devise an easy and quick way for our projects to gather valuable information that can be passed to the Scottish Mentoring Network. All projects that take part in our national evaluation program will receive regular reports on the scope and impact of mentoring in their local area, thematic area and nationally.

Celebrate – Commonwealth Games Funding

17 May From 23 July - 3 August 2014, Glasgow will host the XX Commonwealth Games one of the world's most significant multi sports events. The Commonwealth community represents a third of the world's population and brings together 71 diverse countries and territories. Now the four Scottish Lottery distributors, Big Lottery Fund, Creative Scotland, Heritage Lottery Fund and sportscotland have come together and created Celebrate - to offer Lottery funding support to communities across Scotland as they celebrate and are inspired by this landmark event.

Member News: Plusone Mentoring Programme Volunteer Recruitment, Edinburgh

17 May YMCA Edinburgh is recruiting volunteer mentors for the Plusone Mentoring Programme. As a Plusone Mentor you will be trained and supported to mentor a vulnerable young person aged 8-14 at risk of entering the criminal justice system. Mentors regularly meet with a young person to take part in activities, offer a friendly ear and give support on making positive life choices. Volunteers receive full training, support and expenses.
