27 Oct A pioneering American programme aimed at changing attitudes to casual sexism and acceptance of abuse is to be trialled by the Violence Reduction Unit. The Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP) programme, developed by Dr Jackson Katz to help combat casual sexism in sports changing rooms, is used in colleges across the US.

The project aims to give disabled people more of a say in the decisions which are made both for and about them by bringing disabled people and service providers together to look at ways of putting the disabled person into the heart of the decision making process.
New Mentoring Programme for North Lanarkshire School Children
20 Oct North Lanarkshire Council has has announced it will be participating in the 'Champions in Schools' programme aimed at encouraging school pupils to pursue a healthy lifestyle. The programme plans to identify suitable role models from the world of sport who will then mentor and support pupils to achieve individually set ambitions.
