Co-operative Farms sets up apprentice and mentoring schemes
07 Mar Co-operative Farms' initiative is being rolled out on six farms across England and Scotland this April and targets 17-19-year-olds. Mentoring a key part of West Lothian Council's Skills Training programme
07 Mar Young people across West Lothian are being offered the chance to learn new skills to help them become valued employees. West Lothian Council's Skills Training programme is now in its second year and has helped 80 local youngsters prepare for the world of work. The scheme provides up to 26 weeks of work experience within a council department to trainees, normally aged 16 or 17, with a staff member as mentor to help support them in the workplace.

24 Feb Age Unlimited Scotland explores ways to help people in their 50s and 60s to become social entrepreneurs. As such they can play a central role in the design and delivery of innovative new services, which improve their local communities. And they can continue playing an active role in society. This year we are introducing mentoring into the programme - training more established social entrepreneurs in mentoring techniques and then pairing them with our new 'older entrepreneurs'.
