Maureen is the Chief Executive of Scottish Mentoring Network and is responsible for leading on the strategic development of SMN and for its management and performance.
Maureen has extensive experience in lobbying and influencing at a national and local level and in delivering the priorities of members within a membership/intermediary organisation.
Maureen has over thirty years’ experience in social housing, twenty five years of these in various policy roles with the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations, including Head of Policy from 2007-2015. Maureen’s career started out calculating rent and rate rebates with the former East Kilbride Development Corporation, then following her studies, as a Housing Officer with Shettleston Housing Association in the east end of Glasgow. From 2001-2, Maureen was seconded by SFHA to Glasgow Housing Association.
Maureen (who prefers to be known as Mo) has an MA (Hons) in Sociology from the University of Aberdeen and a Postgraduate Diploma in Housing Administration from the University of Stirling.
Prior to joining SMN, Maureen was working for East Renfrewshire Council’s Housing Service, developing a new choice based letting service and planning for an expansion of its Housing Options service.
