YMCA Edinburgh delivers the Plusone Mentoring Programme and intandem Mentoring service across Edinburgh. These services focus upon mentoring under supported 8-14 year old’s.

Plusone specifically supports young people where their circumstances or behavior’s raise concerns they are at-risk of disengaging with school or being involved in anti-social or offending behaviour.

The intandem programme offers 1:1 mentoring to children and young people with experience of care or who are at-risk of entering the care system. Relationships focused and following the principles of The Promise, the service is not time-limited and remains flexible to the needs of young people.

At YMCA Edinburgh we understand that for children to develop and thrive they require appropriate supports and scaffolding around them. To help meet the needs of children’s emotional and physical development, we provide a range of groups they can access, as well as supports to families, helping contribute to a happy and fulfilling childhood.

In addition to delivering services we want to use our considerable experience and learnings to continue the development of good mentoring practice. In recent years we have delivered at European Conferences on mentoring, supported the development of mentoring best practice across Europe, assisted the development of both international and local mentoring programmes and provided consultancy support to the NHS.
