MCR Pathways delivers the Young Scottish Talent school-based mentoring programme to over 3,000 young people in secondary schools across Scotland. It supports those in or on the edges of the care system to realise their full potential through education. Developed since 2007, and with a growing body of independent evidence on the programme's impact, MCR received backing from the Scottish Government and The Hunter Foundation in 2021 to ensure mentoring is delivered where it is most needed in Scotland.

MCR’s vision is that young people, who have been affected by disadvantage, will have the same educational outcomes, career opportunities and life chances as their peers. It is our goal that with the weekly support of a mentor, and the wider YST programme, these pupils will go onto a positive destination after leaving school.

We are looking for volunteers to join our award-winning programme. Can you help a young person realise their full potential and achieve their goals? One hour a week and a willingness to put a young person first are all you need. As a mentor, you'll improve a young person’s confidence and aspirations, in addition to making a lifelong friend by just being there each week. Mentoring takes place in schools and anyone over 21 can sign up. No qualifications are required and full training is provided. Become a mentor today!
