The Family Support Service at The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice offers care, advice, and support, for adults, children, and young people living with the impact of a life limiting, or life shortening illness.

The multi- disciplinary team provides practical, emotional and spiritual pre and post bereavement care through one-to- one and group support. Within the Family Support Service, the Butterfly Service supports children and young people up to the age of 21 through a team of counsellors, art psychotherapists and development workers. This support can be provided at the hospice, school or the family home

We are currently developing a mentoring service for young people to be supported both pre and post bereavement.  Our aim is to build confidence in young people who are going through a very emotional demanding time and to enhance their coping strategies and build resilience.
