COVEY (Community Volunteers Enabling You)
About
COVEY (Community Volunteers Enabling You) is a lifeline for children, young people, and families across Lanarkshire. Formed as a charity in 1992, we have provided one-to-one and group-based befriending, mentoring, and family support services tailored to those who need it the most.
For almost 35 years, we have supported over 5,000 children, young people and parents/carers across Lanarkshire. Our mission is to support children, young people and families to become more resilient, safe and better equipped to reach their full potential. Our vision is for children, young people and families to live happy and fulfilled lives.
COVEY currently has 8 projects operating throughout Lanarkshire, with opportunities for our volunteers to mentor in various community settings and schools. We also tailor our voluntary opportunities as much as possible to accommodate our volunteers, with opportunities to work one-to-one, as part of a group, during the day or in the evening.
We take into consideration our volunteers’ interests, skills, availability and preferences when matching them to a project and provide all the required training and ongoing support.
We have a wonderful community of volunteers and enjoy bringing everyone together for volunteer events and catch-ups across COVEY as often as we can.
