The Highland Council Youth Action Team

The Youth Action Team is a multi-agency service to young people who are offending, at risk of offending or have substance misuse issues.

The team works with 12-18 year-olds with Offending, Substance Misuse, Family, Behaviour or other issues. My role, as a Substance Misuse Worker, is largely based upon mentoring, as I understand it. I work with Offending Behaviour programme modules to address issues such as Anger Management, Consequential Thinking, Improving Personal Relationships and Substance Misuse. The YAT receives referrals, most often via Child Concern Forms, from Police, Health, Education and Social Work.
