The Rock Trust

About

The Rock Trust works with young people aged 16-25 in Edinburgh and the Lothians (aged 15-25 in West Lothian). Our role is to advise, educate and support young people. We want to enable them to build the personal skills and resources required to make a positive and healthy transition to adulthood, while avoiding or moving on from homelessness. The Rock Trust's Mentoring service provides volunteer Mentors who are motivated to share their skills, knowledge and experience with young people aged 16-25 years who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. We also provide a Peer Mentoring Project in West Lothian for Care Experienced Young People aged 15-25 years, where young people can get support from a Mentor with a shared experience such as being in Care or homelessness or, who has a skill to share. Volunteer Mentors work alongside a young person doing enjoyable activities that help them work towards their goals, giving them the opportunity to develop the skills, confidence and resilience they need to overcome challenges they face. Young people accessing our Mentoring services get to choose their Mentor and their Mentor chooses to spend time with them. All Mentors are trained by the Rock Trust and police checked.
