University of Edinburgh Undergraduate Peer Mentoring
About
The University of Edinburgh's Undergraduate Peer Mentoring programme pairs new 'widening participation' students with a trained peer mentor to support their transition into university. This is a 1-1 mentoring relationship which aims to support new students with the development of skills and confidence around their academic, social, financial and personal development.
The Edinburgh Cares Staff Mentoring Programme pairs new care-experienced students with a trained staff mentor, to support their transition into the University and their engagement in academic and non-academic life. Our vision is that each of our care-experienced students flourish during their time at The University of Edinburgh. We want them to feel part of the University community, and supported to participate fully in University life. To achieve this vision we have created a 1-1 mentoring programme for care-experienced and estranged students which aims to provide them with consistent support and guidance from a trained mentor.
