University of St Andrews - Supported Pathways Learning Mentoring

About

University of St Andrews Supported Pathways offers a supported transition to university level study for applicant who have experienced disadvantage during their schooling which may have impacted. Running two streams, "Gateway to" for school leavers and "FE-HE Pathway to" for those attending further education colleges, supported pathways offers first year students two hours of peer led, soft skill development and mentoring per week throughout their first year of study.

While the aim of Learning Mentoring is to provide the skill development, mentors are often the first point of contact should students be having difficulties and it is the role of the Mentor to create an environment where new students feel comfortable and can reach out for support or guidance. It is the role of the mentors to signpost to appropriate support or escalate concerns to the Senior Mentor or Programme Co-ordinator.
