Booking Now Closed for SMN National Event 2018

This year's Scottish Mentoring Network National Event will be held at St Paul's & St George's Church in Edinburgh on Tuesday 6th November.

The National Event will run from 10am until no later than 4.30pm.  The day will begin with a welcome and update from SMN, after which there will be presentations from a range of member projects on their experiences of pursuing quality mentoring practices, and the benefits this has on their projects, mentors and mentees.

This will be followed by the announcement of the SMN Annual Recognition Category Awards and then some round table discussions on the use of our quality indicators.

We will then be holding our Annual General Meeting and after a networking lunch a variety of break-out sessions will be on offer with something to suit all delegates.

Break-out sessions on offer are:

  1. Quality Practice in Safeguarding within Youth Mentoring
  2. Resilience and Trauma
  3. Strategy Cards Communication Tool
  4. Good Practice - Projects Working with Non Vulnerable Mentees
  5. Sustainability - Making a Lasting Difference

Synopses of the five breakout sessions on offer can be viewed here.  We will contact all confirmed delegates to ask for their preferred session in advance of the event.

The day will close with the presentation of our Quality Award to those projects which have gained this over the past year and the announcement of the winner of our SMN Project of the Year Award.

Members and partners of Scottish Mentoring Network and Glasgow Mentoring Network are entitled to FREE places at the event as part of their membership.   Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis so please  to avoid disappointment.

If you have any questions about the event please contact us on 0141 559 5009 or email us.
