Consultation Event: Children's Services Planning - Provision of Statutory Guidance
17 April 2019
The Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014, placed a requirement on Local Authorities and Health Boards to present evidence to the Scottish Government in a Children Services Plan which sets out and demonstrates the actions planned, taken and delivered to improve outcomes for our children and young people in their area. The first statutory Children Service's Plans were submitted to the Scottish Government in March 2017.
In advance of the next reporting cycle, and to support the programme of strategic engagement with local children's services partners, the Scottish Government wishes to formally consult whether the content, scope and format of the statutory guidance is still helpful, fit for purpose or whether this should be modified, amended or improved to further enhance and build on the support available.
National Third Sector GIRFEC Project (which is part of Children in Scotland), Everyone’s Children Project (which is part of GCVS) and Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland are hosting two consultation events:
Tuesday 14th May
10am – 1pm
Glasgow Albany Conference Centre
44 Ashley St, Glasgow G3 6DS
Thursday 23rd May
10am – 1pm
Children in Scotland
Level 1, Rosebery House, 9 Haymarket Terrace, Edinburgh EH12 5EZ
At the event, information will be provided to encourage third sector organisations if they wish to submit their own response. Feedback from these events will also inform our joint response to the Scottish Government consultation on strengthening the Statutory Guidance for Children’s Services Planning.
