NATIONAL EVENT - Keynote Speaker Announced!

We are pleased to announce that our Keynote Speaker for the SMN National Event and Recognition Awards 2019 is Mark Ballard! As theme of the day is Influencing we are very excited that Mark will be able to speak at our event. Mark will draw on his experience in politics, public affairs and the voluntary sector for this highly anticipated keynote address!
We have included a short biography for Mark for our delegates below:
Mark Ballard is co-author (with Robert McGeachy) of “The Public Affairs Guide to Scotland: Influencing Policy and Legislation”. Mark was Scottish Green MSP for Lothians Region from 2003-2007 and was elected as Rector of Edinburgh University from 2006-2009, beating Boris Johnson in the process.
Mark is currently leading on policy and campaigns for Children 1st. His previous roles have included Head of Scotland for save the children, Director of Strategy and Communications at Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland, Head of Policy) at Barnardo’s Scotland and Head of Campaigns and Communications at SCVO.
