MEMBER NEWS: GrowBiz launches REDS campaign to support rural business

Our members GrowBiz have launched the Rural Enterprise Directory Scotland campaign which aims to support rural businesses through a number of ways.  Read the story below to find out more about this initiative:

A new source of grant funding, free enterprise support and an online directory for all rural businesses in Scotland is underway to help thousands of businesses to re-open and recover from the Coronavirus crisis.

The Coronavirus crisis has had a disproportionate impact on the people who live and work outwith our major cities. Since lockdown began, more than 60% of businesses located in Scotland’s rural areas have had to temporarily close their doors and without urgent support, many have no prospect of re-opening.

Rural Enterprise Directory Scotland (REDS) is a grassroots initiative led by the enterprise support charity, GrowBiz Scotland and they are asking for everyone’s support to help them promote and create the fund.

The REDS fund is a source of urgent and flexible grant funding of up to £5,000 for micro-businesses, social enterprises and the self-employed across rural Scotland. Through a one of a kind £3 million crowdfunding campaign GrowBiz are asking the people of Scotland, and our friends further afield, to come together to show their support by promoting the fund and pledging whatever they can to support our rural communities.
