MEMBER NEWS: GrowBiz celebrates 15 Years of Supporting Rural Enterprise

On the 16th of June, GrowBiz celebrated 15 years of supporting rural enterprise with a special birthday event.

The event started with an afternoon session, which included a drop-in support surgery offering 1-1 business advice, opportunities for networking, a birthday cake cutting by Perth and Kinross Council Provost, Xander McDade, and an enterprise showcase with a variety of local business owners.

The evening session featured interviews with GrowBiz CEO, Jackie Brierton, and Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Covid Recovery, John Swinney. Jackie commented: “We were delighted to welcome John Swinney as our keynote speaker in the evening. Mr Swinney has been a long-time supporter of GrowBiz Scotland and paid tribute to the tailored support provided by the team and volunteer mentors and the significant impact this has had on micro-businesses throughout rural Scotland in the last 15 years.

“He thanked Clair Smith for her role leading the successful mentoring programme and presented her with the award, recognising the successful re-accreditation for achieving the SMN Quality Standard for a further three years.”
