FUNDING: Carrier Bag Charge Funding Available

Funding opportunities are available to organisations through the carrier bag charge. See below how your organisation can benefit from two supermarkets carrier bag charges:

One Stop Carriers for Causes Grants The Carriers for Causes grants programme is funded through the money raised from the 5p bag charge in One Stop stores. The types of projects funded will be very broad. Applications will be accepted from a wide range of organisations including: voluntary/community organisations, registered charities, schools, health bodies, Parish/Town councils, social enterprises, Community Interest Companies, community councils, local authorities and housing organisations. Bags of Help Bags of Help is Tesco's local community grant scheme where the money raised from the 5p bag charge in Tesco stores is being used to fund thousands of community projects across the UK*. The projects must meet the criteria of bringing benefits to the community. Bags of Help is administered by Groundwork who is working with greenspace scotland to support successful projects in Scotland. Three community projects in each local area will be voted on by customers in Tesco stores throughout the UK, with projects changing every other month. Following the vote, the project that received the most votes in its area will receive a grant of up to £4,000, second place receiving up to £2,000 and third place up to £1,000. More here
