MEMBER NEWS: SMN Members Move On, Rock Trust and Ypeople are part of Everyone Home Collective

Our member projects Move On, Rock Trust and Ypeople are part of a collective of organisations who are aiming to end rough sleeping in Scotland. The group of organisations have published two routemaps outlining how they envison the elimination of rough sleeping. The Everyone Home movement wants to see housing at the heart of the recovery from COVID-19.

Their three main aims cover:

  • More homes for Good Health
  • No return to Rough Sleeping
  • No evictions into Homelessness

Third Force News have recently covered the coalition and focuses on the publication of the second Route Map. The group's campaign, #EveryoneHome, has been launched to raise awareness for the cause.

The second route map demonstrates how changes must be made to prevent homelessness with human rights approach, especially for those in the asylum process. The no recourse to public funds policy forces people into rough sleeping as they cannot access housing benefits available to others, and the group says that this must be changed.
