NEWS: Professional Practice Award in Training and Development now available!

Our training delivery partner, Training and Enterprise Development, has just launched a brand nrew training course, the Professional Practice Award in Training and Development.

The Professional Practice Award in Training & Development (PPATD) sits at SCQF Level 8. It is credit rated and quality assured by Edinburgh Napier University. The PPATD fulfils the requirements regarding a relevant training qualification as set out within the COSCA Trainer Accreditation Criteria.

The PPATD is made up of three modules. In order to achieve the PPATD candidates must complete two of the three modules.

The award akes a blended learning approach; two of the modules are completed online.

DESIGN AND DELIVERY OF TRAINING PROGRAMMES Mandatory module

Module one has 20 SCQF credits and examines all aspects of designing and delivering training programmes for groups. It requires attendance at three days training. It is assessed by the development of training plans and materials for two training sessions, one of which will be observed. Also required is a 1,500 word evaluation report.

UNDERSTANDING CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT Module two has 10 SCQF credits and focuses on CPD. Assessment requires candidates to demonstrate their understanding of CPD, to develop a CPD plan and keep a record of CPD activity. Also to produce a reflection on CPD practice and development.

GROUP WORK SKILLS Module three has 10 SCQF credits and looks at group development, group facilitation, group dynamics and group management. Assessment requires candidates to demonstrate their understanding of all aspects of working with groups and to plan, facilitate and review a group activity.
