SMN NEWS: Iain Forbes to be recognised in the King's New Year's Honours List

We were delighted to learn that the former Strategic Development Manager of Scottish Mentoring Network, Iain Forbes, has been awarded an OBE in the King's New Years Honours List.

Iain led the organisation from 2008 - 2018 and promoted the use of mentoring to support those experiencing disadvantage, and to help people to achieve their potential. During Iain's tenure SMN developed the Quality Standard and our Professional Certificate in Co-ordinating Mentoring Programmes, Training Guidance for Mentoring Co-ordinators and Professional Practice Award in Mentoring.

Outside of his work with SMN, he served as a director with ACOSVO and on the Executive Committee of the Variety Club Children's Charity in Scotland for over 25 years and Chair on two occasions and twice President of Partick Bowling Club. He is currently serving as Chair of Includem.
