SMN NEWS: We are looking for new trustees!

We have extended the deadline for our search for member directors to join the Scottish Mentoring Network Board of Directors!
We are delighted to say that we have vacancies to join our board to help with the governance and strategic direction of Scottish Mentoring Network. We are particularly interested in applications from members with particular knowledge/expertise in any of the following areas:
Fundraising/submitting and reviewing funding applications.
Strategic planning
Influencing
Financial management and/or accounting
HR and HRD
We welcome applications from all candidates who believe they will help bring fresh perspectives to our discussions and ensure we understand and meet the needs of the mentoring community we serve. We will provide support to resolve access requirements to ensure candidates can apply and undertake their responsibilities if appointed.
We are guided by the Third Sector Governance Forum Governance Code.
Equality and diversity The code recognises that all third-sector organisations should follow practices that fully recognise diversity in all its forms (for example, diversity of background, thought and experience, as well as the protected characteristics defined by the Equality Act 2010). This is a vital part of good governance and underpins the five core principles. Diversity is essential for boards to be effective and informed, and to make better decisions.
Directors can join the SMN board meetings via digital technology, usually Zoom.
If you are interested in applying for this role, please email CEO Maureen Watson: maureen@scottishmentoringnetwork.co.uk with the completed application form by 9am on the 19th of May
