We’re currently looking for volunteer mentors in Glasgow to help support vulnerable young people to achieve personal goals, increase their skills and confidence, and build their positive social networks. 22 May

	FUNDING: Creative Breaks – NOW OPEN The Creative Breaks programme provides 12 month grants to third sector organisations to develop and deliver short breaks projects and services for carers of adults (aged 21 years and over), and young carers (caring for children or adults), and the people that they care for. 10 May

	FUNDING: Four Winds Trust The trusts purpose is to give those living in cities a better chance to enjoy nature and the beauties of the countryside. This small grant making trust funds charities in Scotland and Northern Ireland. 10 May
	FUNDING: VOLUNTEERING MATTERS ACTION EARTH - 2019 GRANTS now available! Any group of volunteers can now apply for Volunteering Matters Action Earth 2019 grants of between £50 - £250 to run environmental activities in Scotland’s green spaces. This includes enhancing local biodiversity by creating or improving habitats, community gardens, wildflower meadows, ponds, woodlands, urban greenspaces and other growing areas. 10 May
	FUNDING: Baillie Gifford Community Awards The Baillie Gifford grants programme supports grass roots community organisations. Priorities for the programme are: 10 May
	FUNDING: Hilden Charitable Fund Hilden’s grant making priorities are: Homelessness, Penal Affairs, Asylum Seekers and Refugees, and Community Based initiatives for Disadvantaged Young People Aged 16 to 25. Preference is given to supporting small community organisations with an income of less than £500,000 per year. Deadline: ongoing. More here 10 May
	MEMBER NEWS: Extra £3.4m funding for prisoner rehabilitation Mentoring schemes which help prisoners avoid reoffending have been given a cash boost by the Scottish government. 10 May

	CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: Mentoring Works Evaluation Framework At SMN, we are re-launching our #MentoringWorks Evaluation Framework. It is a free service available to members of Scottish Mentoring Network that aims to collect significant data to demonstrate the value, reach and impact of mentoring in Scotland.   8 May
