NEWS: Children and Young People – Participation in Decision Making

The Scottish Government is committed to ensuring children and young people are at the heart of decisions which affect them and that they have the opportunity to effectively participate in wider civic society and influence decisions around them. This is important at both national and local level, including the Scottish Government, local authorities, community planning partnerships, health boards, schools, community councils and other places where decisions are made that will affect children and young people.   27 January

 

FUNDING: BBC Children in Need

BBC Children in Need's focus is firmly on those children and young people who are experiencing disadvantage. They seek to fund organisations working to combat or alleviate this disadvantage and to make a real difference to the quality of children and young people's lives. Applicants should be very specific in helping BBC Children in Need to understand the nature of the disadvantage they are seeking to address: Such disadvantages include: 27 January

 

FUNDING: Weir Charitable Trust

The Trust aims to support small community groups of charities with an income of £100,000 or less per annum based in Scotland and providing services across Scotland. 27 January

FUNDING: Year of Coasts & Waters 2020 MicrO Local Area Grants

In 2020, Scotland celebrates its Coasts and Waters with a year-long programme of events and activities which will shine a spotlight on these vital elements of our landscape. From our beautiful natural features including coasts, lochs and rivers to our industrial heritage such as our canals and mills, Scotland’s Coasts and Waters have shaped our culture, our stories and our way of life. 27 January

 

FUNDING: John Watson's Trust

Grants for educational purposes for children and young people under 21 who have a physical or learning disability or who are socially disadvantaged. 27 January

 

FUNDING: The Radcliffe Trust - Music

The Radcliffe Trust - Music The Radcliffe Trust supports classical music performance and training, especially chamber music, composition and music education. Particular interests within music education are music for children and adults with special needs, youth orchestras and projects at secondary and higher levels, including academic research. The Trustees respond to applications and also initiate their own projects. August 31 for the December Trustee meeting. It is advisable to submit an application well in advance of the deadline. More here27 January

 

FUNDING: National Lottery Funds

Scottish Land Fund: current round runs until summer 2020. Grants of up to £1 million to help communities purchase buildings / assets, including some project development costs. Won’t fund refurbishment, rebuilding etc. More here.   National Lottery Awards for All can fund or contribute to capital or building projects, including purchase, building or refurbishment. Grants go up to £10,000. More here.    Community-Led Activity grants can fund up to £50,000 capital work as part of a wider project for the benefit of a neighbourhood or local community”. WANTED: one Chair, to lead young & ambitious charity tackling inequity in education. After taking Light Up Learning from an idea backed by enthusiasm, to a 9 person strong team working across Edinburgh and Midlothian, our co-founder Will is stepping down as Chair, for a well-earned break.   23 January

MEMBER NEWS: Scottish Fire & Rescue Service to support MCR Pathways

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has helped launch a pioneering partnership which will see uniformed and support staff act as role models to care-experienced and disadvantaged young people across Scotland. 23 January

 

NEWS: Criminal cash diverted to fund youth projects

Youth projects throughout Scotland are set to benefit from nearly £20m recovered from criminals. CashBack for Communities is a Scottish government scheme that takes money recovered under proceeds of crime laws and invests it into communities. 23 January
