100 MPs and Peers have been involved with the Diana Award's Campaign, "One Hour, One Young Person, One Parliamentarian". It aims to match the parliamentarians with a young person for a virual mentoring session. The campaign aims to highlight how one hour can help the mentee to see things differently. These matches took place on National Mentoring Day, and was organised by the all party parliamentary group on Mentoring, The Diana Award. 28 October

This new programme run by Impact Arts, will train 10 artists who are unemployed or underemployed to be able to deliver community arts projects. They will go through a structured programme of training and hand on experience in delivering participatory arts activitiesy, reaching up to 300 people in communities across North Ayrshire via bespoke projects.
After the programme, Makers/Artists will be equipped with the tools and skills needed to have a viable and sustainable career within participatory and community settings and/or to support the development of a Self-Employed Portfolio Career. Key benefits are the additional one-to-one professional creative and business Mentoring support offered to each trainee, from skilled and respected Mentors, and access to industry contacts and networks. 21 October

Members of the British Parking Association can now be matched with an experienced leader from the parking sector for a period of 12 months of mentoring. The focus will be on supporting the mentees to transition into a leadership role. There will be 6 mentees in the first phase of this scheme.
The scheme has 7 stages and will take mentors through compulsory training before they can progress to matching. 20 October

Small Business Saturday is a campaign which aims to showcase small business across the UK and would have included a bus tour across the country to visit small businesses and celebrate their work. Now in it's 8th year, the campaign will now visit these businesses virtually - they will begin in Inverness and 'zoom in' to locations across the country each day. The Roadshow will launch on the 2nd of November and will visit 30 locations each day. The tour will count down to Small Business Saturday on the 5th of December 2020.
The team from Small Business Saturday will offer mentoring as part of their sessions with the small business. They will offer advice and support on all things such as digital marketing to money management.
They will visit a whole range of towns and villages in rural and urban communities to find out how the small business have coped during the pandemic and to offer support amidst the new wave of Coronavirus restrictions. 7 October
