This evaluation report neatly outlines the rationale for the use of mentoring as a means of promoting community safety and social inclusion by contributing to a reduction in youth crime and young people's harmful substance misuse. The outcomes for the majority of young people involved in the mentoring service were extremely positive, especially in relation to the overall reduction in the level and seriousness of crimes committed.
