What Makes a Great Mentor?
Themes:
Intergenerational
By David Clutterbuck (2005)
There are different views about what makes a good mentor, not least because there are two different perspectives about what mentors do. Most of the literature about mentoring is American and emphasises a model we now call sponsorship mentoring. This approach went down like a lead balloon when it was introduced to the UK and Europe. A new model has emerged whic is now the dominant approach called developmental mentoring.
