NEWS: Early Years Music Scotland Opens New Mentoring for Musicians Scheme

Early Years Music Scotland are offering three fully funded places to Scottish based musicians working with children and young people.

The mentee will be mentored over a six month period and will take place remotely via Zoom.

To apply, please complete the application form by the 5pm deadline on Sunday 21 May 2023.

The mentor, Yvonne Wyroslawska has completed the Professional Practice Award in Mentoring, delivered by Scottish Mentoring Network and was supported to do so by the Musicians' Union.

Yvonne Wyroslawska has worked as a freelance musician for almost 20 years, delivering music education and community music projects across Scotland and internationally. She specialises in early years music education using the Colourstrings approach and Kodály-inspired practice, designing and delivering music projects for very young children and their families and delivering training for musicians, teachers and education professionals. An ardent advocate for the benefits of music education, Yvonne is Vice Chair of the MU's Education Committee. Yvonne has an MA (Hons) Music from the University of Glasgow, a Licentiate in Music Teaching (LRSL) with distinction, an MEd (Learning & Teaching in the Performing Arts) from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and is currently a doctoral researcher at the University of Edinburgh
