Member News: Circle receive funding boost

Circle’s Inter-School Social Education Project (ISSEP) has received funding from the Morrisons Foundation to develop an outdoor area at its base in Pilton, Edinburgh.

Circle works at the heart of deprived communities across Central Scotland aiming to support the most disadvantaged and difficult-to-engage children and families to improve their lives and promote their healthy potential and development.

The new funding will be used to develop an outdoor area where volunteer mentors from a nearby high school will meet with primary school aged mentees to provide mentoring and support.

Claire Martin from Circle said: "This funding means we can create a therapeutic space where high school students can help younger children develop their learning and social skills."

Martin Connelly from the Morrisons store in Granton presented the cheque to Circle. He said: "We are pleased that the Morrisons Foundation has awarded this donation to Circle, a local charity which helps children and young people in our area."

The Morrisons Foundation was set up by Morrisons supermarkets in 2015 and awards grants for charity projects which improve people’s lives. Further information on the foundation is available here.
