The Second Chance Project is a community based abstinence project that helps people cease their use of drugs and alcohol and learn how to maintain long term abstinence. The programme lasts up to one year and comprises of 3 Phases. Our programme is comprised of 121 care planning support and daily group work sessions.
As an organisation we are interested in mentoring as we would like to expand and support Youth with Addictions (18-25 year olds) and believe allocating a mentor to each youth would be of benefit when helping to achieve the projects goals for each individual accessing the service.
We currently have no hands on experience of mentoring within the project but have supported programme participants to access mentoring roles in a volunteering capacity whilst still attending the project. In places such as Move On and Phoenix.
